What is the Tactical Action Glock?

The Tactical Action Glock starts with a factory Glock pistol, and improves on "perfection," to become a custom handgun with a superb grip and trigger pull. David Maglio has upgraded hundreds firearms in the past, including many of his own. There are many options and additions available, but the Tactical Action Carry Package, or TAC-Pack, is what is most often requested from David. Click here to see what our customers have to say!

What is the TAC-Pack?

NY1 SpringThe TAC-Pack starts with the addition of the New York-1 spring, or NY1. The NY1 was named after a popular option added on to Glocks by the New York State Police. The NY1 increased the trigger pull from the factory 5 pounds to approximately 8 pounds. The NY1 is the start of a smoother trigger pull.

The next step is to low-heat polish the internal components that make the trigger work. Several surfaces on the inside which fit together mechanically will "break in" or smooth out over time. The TAC-Pack adds a mirror-like finish to those surfaces. On compact and sub compact models, some areas are sharp and have grooves. The TAC-Pack will smooth out the grooves and round out the edges to make the trigger of the smaller models feel like one of the larger models. Below are examples of factory components:

Here are examples of the same guns, after the low-heat polish in the TAC-Pack:

The last part is what David calls a "GRIPple," or stippling of the grip. The GRIPple takes the smooth areas of the lower frame and increases the surface area. This means your hand is on a larger area of the gun, increasing your grip and increasing your control on the gun. After-market sleeves and rubber grips that slide onto the frame seem to wear out easily and flex with the weather the GRIPple is the answer that will last as long as your Glock will.
